LUDWIG TEYE TOTIMEH TAKES OVER TWMA AS THE FIRST MALE MCE AFTER FORTIFYING 100% APPROVAL FROM THE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS.
Ludwig Teye Totimeh has unanimously been confirmed as the first male chief executive of Tema West Municipal Assembly {TWMA} follow resounding endorsement by assembly members during special general assembly meeting held on Thursday 8th, March 2025 at the forecourt of the assembly.

The Tema West Municipal Assembly was inaugurated in March after it was carved out of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly by the local government Act {2016} Act 936 and the legislature instrument 2017 LI2317.
Since its inauguration it has had three {3} female MCE’s, madam Adwoa Amoako, Mrs. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo and Madam Felicia Edem Attipoe.
Mr. Totimeh secured all 16 valid votes cast representing 100% to sail through in election conducted by electoral commission {EC}, surpassing the two third majority required under section 20 of the local government Act ,2016{Act 936}.
Speaking prior to the voting, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewa Akweley Ocloo, who supervised the voting process, called on assembly members to uphold their constitutional mandate by confirming the president nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive {MCE}.

She said it would be appropriate to give their support to Mr. Ludwig Teye Totimeh to continue with the good work of his predecessor.
She gave the assurance that, the people around him would get to like him when they started working together.
The Presiding Member Hon. Gilbert Kenneth Mag-Mawuli expressed the gratitude of the assembly to the president for nominating Mr. Ludwig Teye Totimeh. He therefore gave the assurance that the assembly members would offer their support and work with him realize the objectives of municipality.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ludwig Totimeh thanked the almighty God and expressed his profound appreciation to the president John Dramani Mahama for appointing him as MCE.
“I am very grateful to the president for entrusting me, a young man with this responsibility. It is an honor, I promised I will not disappoint him”.

Acknowledging the work of his predecessor, the new MCE pledge to build upon their achievement while drawing from their knowledge and experience.
With the reference of the president re-setting Ghana Agenda, the MCE promise to reset Tema West municipality with developmental project.
Mr. Totimeh who is also the deputy constituency secretary for the national democratic congress NDC hails from La and Ada Foah, respectively maternally and paternally in the Greater Accra Region.
He is a business analyst, business consultant, economist, and administrator who described himself as result- oriented, energetic, analytical, a deep thinker, and imbued with a broad suite of expertise.
Mr. Totimeh indicated that, he has a cooperating spirit of teamwork and focuses on achieving strategic goals, managing change, and implementing and advancing specific aims and broad objectives of organizations.
He noted that, he has been trained to identify opportunities and challenges and designs strategic models and scientific simulations to address them while exploring opportunities. He noted that with these qualities and more, he together with the staff of TWMA would ensure the needed development for the area.
The new MCE holds a master’s degree in degree in business analysis and consulting a bachelor’s degree in economics and geography, Development planning and other certifications.
He stated that politically, he worked as a research assistant at the office of the president, where he conducted field and secondary research for the policy coordination and implementation of government policies and programmes for the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies {MMDAs}.
He said he also worked as a market researcher at Pixel limited. Glasgow, Scotland, and worked with the Spintex sub office of the Value Added Tax {VAT} in 2008.
Before his appointment he ran his businesses, which range from commercial vehicles to distribution of detergents, stationery and water.
The confirmation ceremony which took place amidst drumming and jubilation, was attended by Assembly members, government official, Traditional Leaders, Party Executives and residents among others.
