REPORT ON THE INAUGURAL CEREMONY FOR POLICE AND FIRE SERVICE ASSISTANTS
Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) in collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), on Thursday, 18th September, 2025 held an inaugural ceremony for the newly recruited Officers (Assistants) for the Police and Fire Services within the Municipality.
The recruits who had successfully completed their training were officially handed over to the Heads of the two Security Agencies to augment their activities and efforts to beef up security in the Municipality.

Gracing the ceremony with their presence were the Regional Director of YEA, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Juda, Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, MCE, Tema West, Mr. Emmanuel Kungi, MCD, Tema West, Ms. Fawziah Mohammed, YEA Director, Tema West, the Constituency Chairman for the ruling party, Mallam Issah Mohammed and various Heads of Departments.

The ceremony by the Youth Employment Agency comes to strengthen the security framework of the Municipality and also highlight importance the of involving the youth in community safety, create employment opportunity as well as recognize the efforts of those who have successfully completed their rigorous training.
The Assistants are expected to play key roles in supporting the existing Security Teams within the Municipality.
In a brief remark, Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh said the initiative was to tackle the various challenges the security agencies encounter, ensure that the community is safe, enhance the effectiveness of the Local Security Agencies and also provide employment opportunities for the youth.
Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Juda also admonished the recruits to passionately go about their duties since the knowledge and skill acquired can open better opportunities for them in the near future.
A total of 71 Assistants underwent training and passed out with 35 Females and 36 Males respectively.

32 Police Assistants were officially handed over to assist the Police within the Municipality and 39 Fire Assistants to the Fire Service.
