Tema West Municipal Assembly Engages HFC Estate Residents on Property Rate Awareness

The Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) held its first management meeting of the year on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Assembly Hall. The meeting, chaired by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Kungi, brought together heads of departments and units to reflect on previous resolutions, address pressing concerns, and outline strategic priorities for the year.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Kungi emphasized the need for a renewed mindset and focused efforts from all management members. He urged participants to avoid distractions and prioritize initiatives that align with the development goals of the new administration and the Assembly at large.

Following the reading and confirmation of the previous minutes, key issues from past meetings were revisited. These included the unresolved leakage at the Registry Unit, the ongoing relocation of offices to Community 2, and the data collection exercise at the Ramsar site. Management provided updates and assigned responsibilities to ensure follow-up actions are completed.

The meeting also served as a platform for heads of departments and units to provide general updates on their operations, highlight challenges, and propose solutions. Discussions covered areas such as environmental sanitation, welfare cases, staff performance appraisals, infrastructure maintenance, planning data submissions, internet connectivity, and the need for logistical support in some departments.

Management deliberated on proposals regarding the relocation of revenue pay points and received information on upcoming programmes such as the rabies vaccination campaign and registration under the Local Government Area Workers Scheme. Members agreed that due diligence should be conducted before committing to any third-party initiatives.

In closing, members expressed their commitment to ensuring improved service delivery and operational efficiency throughout the year. The meeting was adjourned at 12:22 p.m. following a motion moved by Mr. John Appiah K. Asiedu and seconded by Mr. Anthony Amenyadzi. A closing prayer was said by Mr. Rester Boateng.
