TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY HOSTS BUDGET HEARING MEETING

On the 16th of June, 2025, the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) was assessed by the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) as part of a national monitoring exercise under the Ministry of Finance’s Fiscal Decentralisation Unit.

The exercise, initiated by the Ministry of Finance, focused on the implementation of the 2025 Composite Budget, examining project progress, fund utilisation, and alignment with the Medium-Term Development Plan.

The Assembly reported over 60% implementation, with regular reviews and timely reporting. Challenges highlighted included delayed release of statutory funds affecting some projects.

The RCC commended TWMA for its efforts and encouraged stronger inter-departmental coordination and continued capacity-building.

The initiative seeks to enhance transparency, accountability, and performance across all MMDAs.
