CELEBRATION OF TRADITIONS AND ARTS
The Social Welfare Department of the Tema West Municipal Assembly signified a gesture of compassion and solidarity by supporting families of children with special needs at a special event held at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly on Monday, December 22, 2025.
The event brought together parents, caregivers, and stakeholders, creating a platform for shared experiences and mutual encouragement. Several mothers of children with special needs shared heartfelt stories, offering words of hope and motivation to fellow parents while fostering a sense of unity and emotional support.

Activities during the event included a lively dance competition that added excitement and joy to the occasion. The programme was peaked with the presentation of essential items to support the families, reinforcing the Assembly’s commitment to social inclusion and the welfare of vulnerable groups.

Addressing participants, the Head of the Social Welfare Department, Mrs. Clara Sowah, expressed her profound gratitude to the benevolent sponsors and the dedicated staff of the department whose collective efforts contributed to the success of the event. She emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in supporting children with special needs and their families within the municipality.
