TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTS REGIONAL SANITATION DAY INITIATIVE

As part of the Regional Sanitation Day initiative launched by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Ohenewaa Akweley Ocloo, the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) took proactive measures to ensure the success of this laudable initiative. Recognizing how important it is to maintain cleanliness and preventing diseases, the Municipal Coordinating Director of TWMA, Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Kungi, in collaboration with the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, organized a massive cleanup operation across the municipality.

The cleanup exercise, which took place in various communities within Tema West, aimed to reinforce the need for proper sanitation and hygiene while encouraging residents to take responsibility for their environment. The event witnessed the participation of assembly members, sanitation workers, traders, and community members who joined forces to clear gutters, remove waste, and sweep public spaces.

The Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the Tema West Municipal Assembly also took the opportunity to educate residents on best practices in waste disposal and the harmful effects of pollution. The team encouraged households and businesses to separate waste materials for easy recycling and disposal.

Residents and stakeholders were encouraged to take active roles in promoting environmental cleanliness, as a cleaner community would benefit everyone and will also enhance the overall quality of life.
