TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY IN COLLABORATION WITH ‘FOOD FOR ALL AFRICA’ AN N.G.O DONATE FOOD ITEMS TO THE NEEDY.

The Tema West Municipal Assembly in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization, “Food for all African on Friday 30th March, 2023, donated food items to Disabled and Orphans under the Department of Social Welfare to help reduce the hardship among the individuals.

The Disabled and Orphans were presented with boxed assorted food items, which included rice, tin tomatoes, cooking oil, tin fish, biscuits and more.

In a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly, beneficiaries were presented with the items. The Operation Manager of Food for all Africa, Mr. Frank Kporwodu said the Food for All Africa was non-profit organization that operates in West Africa as a first community food support center that creates efficient and sustainable means of healthy nutrition for vulnerable people within various communities in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa through technology, diversity and innovation.

He said the vision of the Organization was a Ghana without hunger and to reduce hunger and poverty in Ghana. Mr. Frank Kporwodu, later hinted that, the reason for presenting the items was to support the livelihood of the vulnerable within the Municipality since the NGO base on humanitarian and development.

Presenting the items to the PWDS, Mrs. Clara Sowah Head of Department for Social Welfare and Community Development who stood in for the Municipal Chief Executive, hinted that the input of PWDS into Ghana growth was equally important and Municipal Assembly would prioritize their needs in Municipality to function effectively.

She later assured that, the Assembly would continue to create policies and opportunities for all by establishing members economically to meet their needs.

“The gesture is aimed at supporting our brothers and sisters who are physically challenged especially the orphan in these difficult times.

Mrs. Clara Sowah later advised the PWDS to make use of the support they received to enable them to expand their livelihood. On his part, Mr. Rafeal Kofi, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and his entourage for remembering them and thanked them for their gesture.
