TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY DONATES ITEMS TO MUSLIMS TOWARDS RAMADAN FAST.

The Tema West Municipal Assembly on 15th March ,2024 presented assorted food items and cash to the Muslim throughout their various Mosques within the Municipality towards their affinity as they observed this year’s Ramadan Fast.

The items include Sugar, Milo, Milk, Lipton and undisclosed amount were presented to Muslim communities within the various electoral areas

Presenting the items to the Muslims, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo stated that, the donation was made to appreciate the prayers Muslims offered for the Municipality during Ramadan and aimed at promoting a spirit of unity, empathy, and compassion among residents and Muslims.

She said, the items are very essential in encouraging the Muslims not to relent to their efforts during the sacred month, as presented on behalf of President Nana Akufo Addo.

Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo later hinted that, the fasting was very significant as its premise was self- control, sacrifice, humility, compassion, and gratitude, she therefore urged Muslims especially those within the Municipality, to continue to exhibit the high sense of discipline they exhibited during and even after the fasting.

She stated that, the donation was to make the Muslim Community feel comfortable and be part of the Municipality to ensure harmonious living.

According to her, for the sake of holistic development and a goodwill gesture, government under the Assembly supports good causes of the people to ensure harmonious living.

she therefore urged Muslims to be steadfast in their faith and pursue the virtues of their religion such as peace, righteousness, love, and harmonious living.

“I prayed for strength for the Muslims to have a successful fasting period and I therefore urged the leaders to inspire discipline and forgiveness in their followers” she hinted

Receiving the items, on behalf of the Muslim Community, Imam Mustapha Abubakar with the Ahmadiyya Mission thanked the government through the MCE for the donation. He said the items would be used for its intended purpose as he prayed for God’s blessing for the Assembly.

Imam Mustapha Abubakar uses the opportunity to call on Muslim youth especially those within the Municipality to strictly adhere to the practices of the Prophet Muhammad, as doing so would prevent violence from occurring during their lifetime.
