MCE FOR TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ENGAGEGED ABOBOYAA OPERATORS ON THE BAN ON MOTORWAY

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Tema West Municipal Assembly, Hon Anna Naa Adukwei Addo last Friday 14th January, 2022 at the assembly premises, engaged the Aboboyaa operators to sensitized them on the bye-laws concerning the ban on motorized Tricycle (Aboboyaa) on the major highways and Accra Tema motorway to enhance compliance with the road traffic.

She said, this fall under the initiative by the Greater Accra Regional Minister to “make Accra the cleanest city in the whole world.” According to her, the Assembly have done a lot of education to the motorized Tricycle (Aboboyaa) operators since last year and some of them are still operating on the motorway.

Their activities endangered the road user and contributed to increasing numbers of road accidents on the motorway and the highways. “The Assembly has formed a taskforce who will be operating on the motorway to arrest anyone found guilty and will be sanction by the law”.
