TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE TOURS BECE CENTERS.
The Chief Executive of the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA), Hon. Anna Adukwei Addo has toured some Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centers in the Tema West Municipality to enable her to assess the conditions under which the students are writing the exams
The International Day of the Girl Child was declared by the United Nations to amplify the voices of young girls around the world and increase awareness of issues they face.
Hon. Anna Adukwei Addo, who was accompanied by officials from the Assembly and the Municipal Education Director, visited three examination centers within Municipality.
Speaking with the candidates, the municipal Chief Executive used the opportunity to wish the candidates well and encourage them to rely on God and eschew all forms of examination malpractices during the examination period to pass successfully.
“We are here to encourage you all to rely on God and not cheating to come out successfully. We are with you and pray that the Lord will enlighten and give you wisdom, understanding and retentive memory” she said.
“You are the future generation and I want to encourage you to look up to God, fear not and don’t attempt to cheat but genuinely do your best and God will see you through” she advised.
About 4023 candidates within Tema West Municipality are said to be taking this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination which began on Monday and is expected to end on Friday, October 21.
After Monitoring some of the centers within the municipality, Hon MCE, said all the centers she visited evidently showed that the Teachers had prepared the candidates very well and judging from the demeanor of the children, it clearly depicted seriousness and was obvious they were in to pass.
She therefore appealed to parents to spare their children sometime during the period and supervise them to learn to come out successfully.
On his part Mr. Isaac MacCarthy Mensah, the Municipal Education Director, hinted that about 4023 candidates are participating in this year’s BECE which 1890 are boys and 2133 are girls all within the private and public schools in the Municipality.
