Training for Environmental Health Officers and Cleaners
The Environmental Health Officers and Cleaners at the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) have successfully undergone a two-day intensive training program aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in effective cleaning techniques. The training was part of TWMA’s ongoing efforts to improve public health standards, and maintain a clean and safe environment within the municipality.

The training program was meticulously organized, incorporating a range of interactive methodologies designed to engage participants and provide hands-on experience. The sessions covered critical topics such as Understanding Cleaning Products, Effective Cleaning Techniques, Waste Management, Safety Protocols and Teamwork and Collaboration.

The training was well-received by the participants, who expressed appreciation for the practical and engaging nature of the sessions. Many noted that the training had significantly enhanced their understanding of cleaning techniques and safety practices. Som recommendations were made during the event which were, investing in high-quality cleaning tools and equipment, implement regular training sessions, provision of adequate PPE and the enforcement strict adherence to safety protocols and monitoring the effectiveness of cleaning operations and identify areas for enhancement.


The two-day training program organized by the Tema West Municipal Assembly marked a significant step towards the improvement quality environmental health services in the area. The Assembly’s commitment the training and investment in quality equipment that were discussed will play a vital role in sustaining these efforts and enhancing public health standards in the municipality.
