Tema West Municipal Assembly Engages HFC Estate Residents on Property Rate Awareness
On 7th September 2024, the Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA) held an impactful community engagement session with residents of HFC Estate to improve property rate collection and strengthen civic participation. The event forms part of the Assembly’s broader initiative to enhance local revenue mobilization through education and stakeholder collaboration.
The forum was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and supported by key municipal officials. During the session, residents were educated on the significance of timely payment of property rates and how these revenues contribute to the development and maintenance of essential municipal services. The officials emphasized that consistent property rate compliance is vital for sustaining infrastructure and community projects.

A major highlight of the engagement was the interactive dialogue between the Assembly and residents. Community members voiced concerns regarding property valuations and how rates are assessed. The MCE and his team responded promptly, clarifying the valuation process and addressing doubts on transparency and fairness.

This initiative demonstrates TWMA’s commitment to inclusive governance and accountability, fostering trust between the Assembly and its constituents. The Assembly reiterated its intention to hold similar engagements across other communities to promote civic responsibility and enhance public understanding of local governance processes.
