TWMA MARK’S INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY IN GRAND STYLE.

Selected schools in the Tema West Municipality on Sunday 6th march,2022 commemorated Ghana’s 65TH Independence Anniversary in style and grandeur with a parade at the Klagon TWMA School Park.

The Independence parade held on the national Theme; “Working Together, Bouncing Back Better” was not only characterized by the accustomed March -past by selected pupils and security personnel, but also interesting cultural displays by exquisitely dressed pupils and observers alike.

Hundreds of residents from Klagon and beyond, who defied the searing sunshine trooped to and filled the place amidst pomp and pageantry.

In all 27 contingents consisting 600 students, 30 teachers, 60 members from cadet corps, the Boys and girls Brigade Band and other voluntary organizations security, Chiefs and dignitaries were in attendance.

The Tema West Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo, in the company with the Klagon Commander of police, and the Municipal Director of education Mr. Isaac McCarty took the national salute as the pupils took turns to march.

Addressing the parade, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo, who read the Independence Day speech on behalf of the president, called for renewed peace, unity and security in the Municipality and the country as a whole.

She said, for the country to develop in an atmosphere of peace and unity, there was need to have a credible and professional security and even more cooperative populace who would respect and trust their legitimate operations.

Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo, later called on the citizenry to adopt peaceful means in addressing domestic, national, political, religious, traditional and labor issues.

He said there is a need to equip individual especially the students with values such as tolerance, solidarity, peace and unit in diversity, to promote and project the theme for the celebrations.

He later pledged to continually work hard in order to project Tema West Municipality to the admiration of all.

At the end of the parade, certificate and trophy was presented to the Adjei-Kojo Basic School and Lashibi Community Senior High School for placing first in the March pass in this year 65th March pass in the Basic and Senior High School.

Some of the schools participated in the parade are as follow, Salvation Army Junior High School, Life International School, Lyron International School, Baatsona JHS, Sakumono JHS, Old Lashibi JHS, and Tema Senior High school.
