Tema West MCE Engages Chopbar Association to Tackle Industry Challenges.

Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA), under the leadership of Hon. Felicia Edem Attipoe, recently held a crucial meeting with the Chopbar Association to address the pressing challenges faced by local chopbar operators. Recognizing the vital role these businesses play in the local economy, the MCE affirmed the government’s commitment to creating a more conducive environment for their operations.

During the meeting, the Chopbar Association highlighted several key concerns, including inadequate sanitation facilities, food safety standards, and the rising costs of operations exacerbated by frequent utility disruptions. These challenges, they noted, have significantly impacted their ability to provide safe and affordable food to the community.

In response, Hon. Attipoe pledged to take immediate action to address these issues. She committed to improving waste management systems to enhance sanitation at chopbar locations and announced plans to facilitate food safety training for operators to ensure compliance with health standards. Additionally, the MCE assured the association that she would engage with utility providers to reduce disruptions and alleviate some of the financial burdens on these businesses.

The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of collaboration between the TWMA and the Chopbar Association, as both parties work together to support the chopbar operators and enhance the quality of service they provide to the residents of Tema West.
