NCCE Inspires Students at Baatsonaa Junior High School During Citizenship Week Celebration.
As part of the 2024 Citizenship Week Celebration, the Tema West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) visited Baatsonaa Junior High School on May 30, 2024. The event, themed “Together we can build Ghana, so get involved,” aimed to inspire students to actively contribute to Ghana's development.
The highlight of the event was a motivational speech by Mr. Stephen Essien, a consultant from the Tema West Constituency. Mr. Essien shared his personal journey of overcoming significant hardships to achieve success, encouraging students to persevere in the face of challenges and strive to become exemplary citizens. He underscored the importance of national unity, respect, patriotism, and democracy, urging students to embody these values in their daily lives.
Joining Mr. Essien were Mr. Fidel Bortey, NCCE Director for the Tema West Municipal Assembly, and Mrs. Millicent Ayi-Mensah, Principal Civic Education Officer. Both officials reiterated the message of the event, urging students to be obedient and diligent in their studies to achieve their goals. They emphasized that hard work and dedication are key to personal and national development.
The event was a part of the broader Citizenship Week initiative, which seeks to foster a sense of civic responsibility and active participation among the youth in Ghana. The NCCE’s visit to Baatsonaa Junior High School was a significant step in encouraging young students to take an active role in building a better Ghana.
