TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PRESENT ITEMS TO THE MUSLIM COMMUNITIES.
The Tema West Municipal Assembly (TWMA), led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anna Naa Adukwei Addo, has presented assorted food items and cash to the Muslim communities within the Municipality, towards their affinity as they observed this year Ramadan. The items include 30 bags of sugar, 20 cartons of milo, 25 cartons of milk, 20 boxes of Lipton and undisclosed amount were presented to the Muslims Communities.
The items where to be distributed by the various Assembly members through the mosques within the Municipality. Presenting the items on behalf of the Assembly to the Muslims communities, Hon Anna Naa Adukwei Addo, said the donation was made to appreciate the prayers Muslims offered for the municipality during Ramadan. Hon Anna Naa Adukwei Addo therefore urged Muslims, to continue to exhibit the high sense of discipline they exhibited during the fasting and even after the fasting. She also called for continuous cordial relationship between them and other religious groups, especially Christians. Alhaji Sheikh Aziz Sama, who received the items on behalf of the Muslims thanked the Assembly especially the MCE for the kind gesture.
He later entreated the Islamic communities to leave in unity, truth, and patience by respecting and tolerating each other which is the only way there will be peace and harmony in Ghana. “Ramadan is not only about starving but a mandate assigned by Allah to all Muslims to retreat and ask forgiveness through prayers in order to maintain the peace and harmony.
