REGIONAL COMPOSITE BUDGET HEARING

The Budget Hearing was held on the 24th of October, 2024 by the Tema West Municipal Assembly. The meeting was held at the Tema West Municipal Assembly at Community 5. The meeting constituted of four district assemblies which were, the Tema West Municipal Assembly, the Krowo, Ledzokuku and the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly constituting Zone six(6) of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council.

This meeting was coordinated by Greater Accra’s Regional Coordinating Council to review the current budget status, identifying variances, discussing necessary adjustments, and exploring cost-saving opportunities for the upcoming period. The overall expenses accumulated and incurred by each district assembly was discussed during the meeting. Cost-saving strategies and ideas that could help reduce the excessive incurrence of cost were suggested and explored.

The need for additional funds for upcoming projects was addressed and potential revenue sources that would help cover costs that would be incurred were discussed. Some items and utilities that were of dire need were also raised for discussion. And also, some of the suggestions and ideas were approved based on their priorities, while the others were placed on hold for further discussion.

The meeting effectively identified areas, items and utilities that could help in budget improvement and also highlighted essential steps that could be taken to strengthen and maintain financial strength in the district assemblies that were present for the meeting for the upcoming period of time.
