Roads and Highways Authority Gears Up for Transformative Road Project in Borteyman Community .
In a proactive move towards enhancing infrastructure and connectivity, the Roads and Highways Authority, in collaboration with the Urban Roads Department of the Tema West Municipal Assembly, conducted a comprehensive sensitization exercise in August. The primary objective was to inform residents of the Borteyman Community about an impending road project, part of the Ghana Project Implementation by the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
The exercise, which targeted residents in the project-affected areas, aimed to foster understanding and cooperation among the community members. Notably, the project entails significant development and improvement of the existing road infrastructure, contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of the region.
During the sensitization, residents were apprised of the Roads and Highways Authority's plans and were cautioned against encroaching on government lands earmarked for the road construction. Emphasis was placed on the importance of adhering to the project's timelines and guidelines to ensure a smooth and timely execution. Of particular concern were structures such as containers and kiosks that occupied the designated construction area. Residents were urged to either relocate these properties or demolish them voluntarily, clearing the way for the impending road project. The three-month grace period provided residents with ample time to make informed decisions regarding their properties.
The grace period, spanning from May 31st to August 10th, was deemed sufficient to allow affected individuals to make necessary arrangements. During this period, the community received support and guidance from officials to facilitate a seamless transition. Authorities encouraged residents to engage in open communication to address any concerns and queries they might have.
However, it was made clear that beyond the stipulated grace period, a Task Force would be mobilized to commence the demolition exercise. This step is crucial for the timely commencement of the road project, ensuring that the construction progresses according to the proposed schedule.
The Roads and Highways Authority emphasized its commitment to community development and urged residents to view the road project as a transformative initiative that would bring about positive changes. The project is expected to enhance accessibility, reduce traffic congestion, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the Borteyman Community and its environs. As the community braces for the upcoming changes, collaboration between the authorities and residents becomes paramount. The success of the road project hinges on a collective effort to adhere to the guidelines and timelines set forth by the Roads and Highways Authority. Through such collaborative endeavors, communities can pave the way for a brighter, more connected future.
